Ella Baswell (c/o 2027 P/3B/1B) has been on a tear this season. According to Maxpreps (https://www.maxpreps.com/al/new-hope/new-hope-indians/softball/stats/) her batting average through 15 games is .517 with an on base percentage of .632. Her most impressive stat is the 8 homeruns she has added in only 38 plate appearances. This ridiculous stat means she is hitting 1 bomb in every 5 plate appearances! The Alabama state leaders, Makayla Foster and Lilly Bethune (10), have both had 60 and 59 plate appearances respectively. This means that per plate appearance, Baswell is more efficient hitting the long ball than anyone in the state. Even more ridiculous, out of the top 50, there are only two home run hitters with less plate appearances (37). New Hope needs to find a way to get her to the plate more often.
Ella and the New Hope Indians play against Madison County on 3/19 and DAR on 3/21.
