Pell City High Softball kicked off this week with a 6-4 record in 10 games. Kherington Keith, the class of 2027 graduate plays third base for the Panthers. In her first 10 games of the season she has amassed 10 hits, 1 double, 2 homeruns, and 6 runs batted in for a batting average of .385. Keith plays travel ball for head coach Mckenzie Newcomb and the MS Bombers 2026 Premier team. Head coach, Mac, is a pitcher the Samford Bulldogs.
kherington recently accepted her invite to play in the 2024 Showcase Showdown, happening on June 8-9 in Athens, AL. The event features 100 of the top players from the southeast all vying for positions on one of four drafted teams. The event will have 12 college coaches represented in the camp, draft, practices, and camp games.
The colleges represented are University of North Alabama, University of Alabama- Huntsville, Jacksonville St, Alabama A&M, Northwest Shoals Community College, University of West Alabama, Snead State, Southern Union, Florida Memorial, Bethel University, Gadsden State, and Calhoun Community College.
